I recently joined the Restifo Lab in the Arizona Research Labs Department of Neurosciences to study the genetic basis of brain development, and how abnormal development can lead to cognitive disorders such as intellectual disability and autism. I am using a combination of genetic, electrophysiological, and pharmacological approaches in Drosophila to understand how genetic alterations affect brain development.
